Welcome to the online home of the 2007 APA Annual Conference!
The California Chapter presents a statewide conference annually that provide networking and educational opportunities for its members. These popular conferences attract planning professionals from throughout California, the United States, and around the world. In 2007 APA is “Transforming the Urban Fabric” in San José.
Conferences include an opening reception in a spectacular venue, keynote speakers, concurrent tracks of programs and seminars including practical “nuts and bolts” sessions, mobile workshops to local planning related venues, the CCAPA awards luncheon, and the California Planning Foundation auction to fund scholarships for planning students.
Schedule and Highlights
The conference will officially start on Sunday, September 30th at 1 p.m. and conclude on Wednesday, October 3rd at noon. All events will take place at the Downtown San José Fairmont Hotel except for the Diversity Summit (San José City Hall Rotunda) and the Opening Reception (The Tech Museum of Innovation).
Session Descriptions and Bios
The conference features two dynamic keynote speakers: Carl Guardino, President and CEO of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, and Norman Y. Mineta, former City of San José Mayor, member of Congress, U.S. Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Secretary of Transportation.

This conference includes over 110 stimulating conference sessions following ten “threads” and 11 mobile workshops highlighting communities throughout the greater Bay Area. Complimentary Student Day
The complimentary student day is on Sunday, September 30th, which begins at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required to ensure that everyone can be accommodated. If you are a student attending a college planning program, sign-up online for either the complimentary student day or for the entire conference!
AICP Certification Maintenance
