American Planning Association – California Chapter Los Angeles Section
Call for Nominations
We need your help in identifying and nominating outstanding planning projects, activities, and individuals in the Los Angeles region for the 2013 American Planning Association (APA) Awards. This is your opportunity to gain recognition for the efforts of your Department, Firm, or City in contributing to the field of planning.
The local level of the awards program, run by the Los Angeles Section of the American Planning Association, will accept nominations until Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in 29 categories including awards for planners, elected officials, planning schools, and journalists working within Los Angeles County. Additional information about the categories and the nomination process is available on the Los Angeles Section’s web page at www.la-apa.org. The APA LA winners will be invited to proceed to the statewide competition and the California Chapter winners will compete for the National APA awards.
Save the Date
Mark your calendars. The 2013 APA LA Awards Gala will be held on June 13, 2013 at the historic San Gabriel Mission Playhouse in the City of San Gabriel. This event will include catered food, hosted bar, post-show dessert reception, and the 2013 Awards Program. More information will be sent soon. Don’t miss it!
Award Jurors Needed
Awards jurors are needed for the 2013 APA LA Section Planning Awards. Jurors should be able to meet the week of April 22nd to review submissions. Jurors should be also to attend the Awards Gala on June 13, 2013 in San Gabriel. Jurors can be members of the planning community, architects, landscape architects, planning students, and/or other interested individuals knowledgeable in the field of planning. If you would like to be an Awards Juror, please contact the Vice Director of Awards, Francisco Contreras at firstname.lastname@example.org.
