Addressing Changing Housing and Transportation Needs in a Post-COVID World

Date/Time
Date(s) - Jun 25, 2021
9:00 am - 10:30 am

Presented by the Sacramento Valley Section, APA

Co-sponsored by APA California and Caltrans

This moderated discussion will focus on community coalition efforts from the perspective of two community-based organizations—one from the Sacramento area and one from southern California—that have an emphasis on community needs and equity in areas such as affordable housing and transportation. The discussion will examine the broader issues that impact transit needs and choices and the interconnectedness with affordable housing and other critical community necessities. The panel will be asked to envision the choices communities will be facing in the coming decades tied to housing and transit and how post-2020 best practices can meaningfully impact the actions we can take today to address the needs and plan for a more inclusive future.

Co-Moderators: Dan Cucchi, Esq., Abbott & Kindermann and Celia Yniguez, Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency

Panelists: Scarlett DeLeon, Campaign & Organizing Manager, ACT-LA; Tamie Dramer, Executive Director, Organize Sacramento
