The Northern California Section of the APA Chapter will again offer an AICP EXAM PREP workshop series this Spring. It will move from San Jose State University, our home for the past several years to the University of California, Berkeley.
They will be held in the Department of City and Regional Planning of the College of Environmental Design in Wurster Hall (2nd Floor- follow AICP signs) on the campus at the gate off Bancroft. Parking is metered on the street or structures.
The course is a series covering all the domains of the National APA multiple-choice 170 questions. Experienced, expert guest speakers and recent successful test takers will speak at each of our sessions. The dates for the Spring and May exam are February 21, March 14, April 4, and April 25. They are all Saturdays and begin at 10:00AM, break for a lunch (with study groups) hour, and finish up by 3:00PM. Study groups are organized geographically and connect.
I guarantee, if you attend, follow our proven study smart strategy, that you will pass on the first attempt, or you can repeat it at no cost until you are successful. I have taught this for 25 years (over 500 students) at UC Berkeley, Stanford, UC Davis, SJSU, and UCSF with an overall 98% pass rate. The state and national rates have varied from 51 % to 81% over the exam history of 33 years. Even if you do not intend to sit the exam until the Fall administration you can get an early good start.
There is no need for you to purchase any expensive national, state, chapter, or commercial vendor study materials, We have over 2,000 practice questions, answers with rationales, readings, tips, outlines, glossaries, and lists: All that you need.
I do ask for a fee of $100 to cover my costs and show your serious commitment to attend, study, and pass. Some students get reimbursed from their employers and I waive my fee if you are a full-time planning student, unemployed or other cases.
I look forward to meeting you, hearing from you, helping you in your study program, and welcoming you as a new member of the only professional organization for practicing public agency planners and private planning consultants in the nation.
