Everyone plays a role in disaster recovery, both before and after an event. The National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF) is a guide that defines how the whole community will work together following a disaster to best meet the recovery needs of individuals and families, communities and states.
Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee showcased the challenges a community may face in the aftermath of an event. In this session, we will discuss best practices and lessons learned from the post-disaster recovery plans completed in communities in Pennsylvania. Post-disaster recovery planning forms the foundation for allocating resources and provides the benchmark for progress. It promotes post-disaster organizations to manage recovery in a deliberate and transparent process.
