De Novo Planning Group specializes in the preparation of complex CEQA documents, comprehensive general plan updates, specific plans, zoning codes, design guidelines, housing elements, LAFCO services, air quality studies, and biological resource studies. The Position We are currently seeking Assistant and Associate-level planners to work out of both our northern California (El Dorado Hills) and our southern California (Tustin) offices. Our current priority is in northern California. This is a full-time, primarily in-person position. We are seeking planners to assist with a wide range of project types, including but not limited to: General Plans, Specific Plans, Zoning Codes, Housing Elements, and all types of CEQA projects. Assistant Planners must have an educational background in city planning, or a closely related field, such as environmental studies. Associate Planners must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the planning field, including experience working for a private consulting firm. Assignments and responsibilities will be based on experience, skill sets, the interests of the employee, and the current project portfolio of the firm. Required Skills / Experience / Education

Qualifications o Bachelor’s degree in City/Regional Planning, Environmental Studies, or other closely related field. A Master’s degree is desirable. o A minimum of 2 years of progressive professional planning experience. Experience in the private sector is desirable. (Associate Planner) o Working knowledge of CEQA. o An understanding of the principles and practices of community planning. o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction, while also working well in a collaborative team setting. o Excellent written and oral communication skills. o Strong organizational and time management skills. o A desire to grow professionally.
