The California Department of Water Resources is recruiting for a C.E.A. position that will serve as the Deputy Director of Statewide Water Resources Planning and Enterprise Project Management. The Deputy Director will be responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of non-State Water Project water resources planning statewide and the Department’s Project Services Office by providing effective policy, programmatic, and budgetary direction concerning all relevant projects and activities.
Job duties including but not limited to:
- In accordance with California’s Water Resilience Portfolio, Water Supply Strategy, and current California Water Plan Update, formulate, revise, and implement all policies and Department programs concerning non-State Water Project, statewide water resources planning
- Formulate and implement policies that address the impacts of climate change, promote equity of resources, and support resilience of California’s watersheds and various systems statewide
- Advise the Director and provide guidance to executive team members on significant statewide water resources planning policy and program efforts
- As required by Water Code Section 10005a, update the California Water Plan every five years to reflect current water conditions and State government priorities
- Oversee the Department’s Project Services Office. Direct the Project Services Office and advance the office’s services Department-wide to integrate project management methods and protocols
