Job Description

 

Working in Southern California locations, you will manage development applications for municipal clients in compliance with local and state plans, policies, and regulations. Responsibilities may include but not be limited to processing ministerial and discretionary permit applications; review applications for CEQA conformance and may prepare CEQA documentation; conduct development and design review; prepare detailed staff reports and presentations for decision-makers; deliver public presentations; conduct plan checks; provide customer service assistance.

Position Reports To: Manager

Required Skills/Experience/Education:
 

Must be well organized and able to comprehend local plans, policies, and regulations.  Must have excellent written, verbal and organizational skills. Command of modern planning practice including current and advance as well as environmental.  Exceptional customer service skills are a must.

PLANNER:  Bachelor’s degree and 2 years (May substitute 1 year with a master’s degree)ASSOCIATE PLANNER: A minimum of 3 years prior experience working for a local government planning department, preferably with a California City jurisdiction.

SENIOR PLANNER: A minimum of 5 years prior senior level experience required. A Master’s degree may substitute for one of the required years of experience. 

CA Driver’s License required

AICP or other professional recognition a plus
