The CalPlanner is APA California’s digital bi-monthly newsletter, providing members with the latest information on a broad range of planning topics and issues as well as offering news, updates and announcements on planning activities from around the state. The CalPlanner is only available to APA California members who are sent an alert about the newsletter as soon as it is published.
CalPlanner‘s content is generated by planning professional who have relevant insight and expertise to share with APA California members. It is therefore an effective platform to generate discussions about best practices, innovative approaches and everyday “how to” tactics deployed within the profession. Please consider writing an article, crafting a position, submitting planning tips, contributing photos/images, or recruiting other planning professionals to contribute.

This issue of the CalPlanner is a bit of departure from our traditional text-driven content that demonstrates perspectives and strategies to many planning topics and challenges. Instead, we offer a different way in which information that is relevant to the profession is being communicated. Titled, Planning’s Big Picture, this issue features examples of infographics that offer a visual narrative which sometimes ultimately lead to planning policy and innovation. Also inside, you’ll find an overview of the recent 2016 Conference in Pasadena, legislative update and history commentary.
