APA California has begun a new professional development program for our members through APA’s Distance Education program. It is part of our effort to expand learning opportunities for those members who are not always able to attend Section activities or the Chapter conference to earn AICP CM credit, although any Chapter member has equal access. This program is a chance to either learn individually, or gather people together to view and discuss.
This year six worthy sessions – including three that are Law or Ethics CM eligible – are from the Anaheim 2014 conference. All are approved for 1.5 CM credits. These sessions will be available for viewing at $15 each and $10 for each additional person in a group registration through the end of 2015. Each session is claimed once for CM credit. After deducted expenses, proceeds accrued will be used to enhance this program but will also be donated to the California Planning Foundation’s (CPF) educational purposes. The CPF is APA California’s non-profit educational organization dedicated to providing scholarships to university students in need and promoting other educational opportunities.
