Planners4Health

The Planners4Health (P4H) Initiative aims to enhance the local capacity for fostering stronger and healthier communities. This endeavor concentrates on fostering better collaboration between planners and public health professionals at the state, regional, and local levels.

In collaboration with the California Planning Roundtable, APA California secured a $70,000 grant for the period from February to July 2017. The purpose of this grant is to support the development of local capabilities in integrating planning and public health. The Planners4Health initiative is a component of APA’s Plan4Health program, a three-year, $9 million initiative designed to assist communities in addressing determinants of chronic diseases, specifically the lack of physical activity and limited access to nutritious foods. The initiative’s funding comes from a grant provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
